Restoring Historic Homes into Modern Havens

Every house has a story, and this project came to us through a simple conversation - a friend wanting to help her best friend move forward after a sudden death in the family. As we stood in the kitchen listening to the long storied-history of the house, we knew it was a precious story.

The owner told of many generations who had lived in and loved this home. From the many Christmas celebrations held at the home, to the little feet running down the stairs. She told how her husband’s family had cherished the home - wide ceilings, antique fireplace, huge windows, and kitchen built-in shelves. The owner shared how exhausted she was trying to paint all by herself (she is a strong woman to attempt such a big task!) and how she needed to rest and have a fresh start. She wanted to be sure another family, someone local who loved our town, would take good care of the home. We promised her our family would! We closed the sale quickly, and our service providers and our family got to work. Today this home is looking lovely providing a rental home for a new household and the owner is enjoying her new season with less maintenance and more time for her business and leisure activities.
